Fans of the Dime Novel Legends line have plenty to celebrate this week, as the company recently shared a behind-the-scenes look at three of the most anticipated figures from their successful “Kicken’ That Chicken: A Toy Horse Story” Kickstarter campaign.
New images of the Scarlett Dragoon, the Cow-BRUH! Boss, and the Cow-BRUH! Bandit have surfaced, showcasing the incredible detail of the 3D print paint masters that will serve as the definitive guides for the manufacturing process in China.
Meet the Scarlett Dragoon
The Scarlett Dragoon is shaping up to be a standout addition to the “Weird Western” ranks. Chicken Fried Toys recently unveiled the full 3D print paint master, sculpted and printed by Kalen McKeand with professional paintwork by John Harmon.
This paint master reveals all the intricate parts included with the figure, from the specialized armor to the “Cow-BRUH!” logo prominently featured on the bib front. One notable detail for eagle-eyed fans is the inclusion of the guidon pennant, an accessory that adds a layer of military authenticity to this fantastical Western design. While the included pistol remained unpainted in these preview shots, the level of detail across the rest of the sculpt suggests a high-quality final product.
The Cow-BRUH is Calling the Shots
Joining the Dragoon is the Cow-BRUH! Boss, a figure that commands attention even in resin form. The recently shared “hard copy” 3D print shows the figure fully assembled before its journey to the factory.
Chicken Fried Toys provided a side-by-side comparison with the Cow-BRUH! Bandit to highlight the unique engineering. While the Boss shares a similar silhouette and utilizes the same waist, head, and arms as the Bandit, the rest of the parts are entirely unique sculpts. This dedication to variety ensures that fans collecting the whole “herd” won’t feel like they are buying simple repaints.
The production version of the Boss will also feature a silver bull skull logo on the right upper arm, a detail missing from the current hand-painted master but confirmed for the final retail release.
Manufacturing Status: Full Gallop Ahead
For those tracking the timeline of the Horse Kickstarter, the news is overwhelmingly positive. According to Chicken Fried Toys, these masters are already at the factory. Production has officially begun on the Scarlett Dragoon, alongside the Bandit and Boss figures which were already in the queue.
The factory is expected to start “running parts” for these figures shortly. As the transition from 3D prototypes to steel-tooled plastic continues, the company has promised to provide more news as it arrives.
The Weird Western Tales sub-line has become a viral sensation among 1:18 scale collectors. Originally introduced as a fun, “weird” expansion of the gritty Dime Novel Legends universe, these figures have captured the imagination of action figure fans worldwide.
Stay tuned to IndependentToys.news for more updates on the Chicken Fried Toys production cycle and the eventual arrival of the 1:18 scale horses that started this latest journey into the Old West.
