Four Horsemen Studios just announced that their Figura Obscura: The Jersey Devil action figure is now shipping. According to a recent social media post, the figure is in the warehouse and the company is actively shipping it out.
If you missed out on ordering this figure, do not fear, as the company announced they will have a small amount at upcoming live shows. There is even a possibility that after everything ships, a few more might go up on the website for sale.

The Figura Obscura line from Four Horsemen Studios is a collector-oriented action figure series that explores the darker, more mysterious corners of folklore, mythology, seasonal legends, and gothic horror. It’s a way for Four Horsemen to produce figures that don’t neatly fit into their Mythic Legions or Cosmic Legions lines — characters who are eerie, uncanny, or tied to mythic and literary tales.
Here’s a breakdown of the key features, ethos, and some examples of the line:
Concept & Purpose
- Beyond the usual myth/fantasy realms: Figura Obscura gives the studio freedom to explore characters from cryptid lore, classic horror, seasonal mythology, and folklore that might not align with their flagship fantasy lines.
- Deluxe and sculpt-rich: These are premium figures with detailed sculpting, often new parts, and generous accessory packs or diorama elements.
- Art and packaging integrated: Every release in this line features custom artwork (often by Nate Baertsch) that extends across packaging, inserts, and display elements. The packaging itself often becomes a backdrop or part of the display experience.
- Interchangeability & parts sharing: While Figura Obscura stands apart, the studio leverages existing parts from their broader parts library when feasible, combining established tooling with new sculpts to realize unique designs.
- Limited / special drops: Releases are often limited in number, occasionally done as surprise drops, and sometimes include alternate “retailer appreciation” color variants, repaint editions, or themed versions.
