For the very first time, Harvinger Studios is bringing one of Frank Frazetta’s most evocative creations, Kubla Khan, to life as an action figure. Part of Savage Crucible Wave 4, this figure continues Harvinger’s partnership with the Frazetta Art Museum, celebrating the legendary fantasy artist’s timeless legacy.
The figure draws direct inspiration from Frazetta’s black-and-white Kubla Khan sketches, created between 1975 and 1984. These illustrations, part of the Kubla Khan Portfolio, were said to be inspired by Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s 1797 poem “Kubla Khan.” Frazetta’s work captures the duality of power and burden, portraying a fierce Mongol emperor shaped by both triumph and tragedy, a theme deeply rooted in both history and myth.
Each sketch in Frazetta’s portfolio tells a story of a warrior through different stages of life, from victorious conqueror to weary ruler. This new figure embodies that complexity, translating Frazetta’s dynamic pencil work into three-dimensional form with incredible attention to detail.
The upcoming release will feature three interchangeable head portraits, new archer’s hands, and a full arsenal of accessories. Fans will also appreciate the thoughtful design touches, the pike can attach to Savage Stands, and the severed head accessory fits on any compatible neck peg, allowing for full customization.
Collectors won’t have to wait long to see it in person, the prototype will be on display at the Titans Toy Expo in Nashville on October 25–26. Official solicitation details and product photography are expected to drop soon, offering a closer look at what’s shaping up to be one of Harvinger Studios’ most ambitious releases to date.
Stay tuned for more updates on Frazetta’s Kubla Khan action figure, a stunning tribute to both classic fantasy art and the enduring storytelling of Frank Frazetta.
