If you backed the Rise of Nexus Kickstarter, then you are waking up to some sad news today. The Kickstarter fell short of its goal by $17,000. For Solid Raven Toys, the failed campaign means either going back to the drawing board (reworking the product, re-launching with better preparation) or finding alternate funding (private investment, pre-orders, etc.). For us it means the risk profile is lower (because no money was collected), but also these figures may be delayed or canceled entirely if no alternate path is found.

Solid Raven Toys founder Carlos Espinoza took to Instagram to thank everyone who backed the campaign, and also left us with a little nugget of hope.

I started this journey not knowing where it would take me and at that point I still wasn’t thinking about doing a Kickstarter. One of the amazing parts about this trip is all the amazing people that I’ve met along the way, and who believe in @riseofnexus and what’s to come. There is a long list of folks to thank and I will get to that at some point soon. Believe me when I tell you that things are cooking behind the scenes and we shall soon rise.

Hopefully, we will know more soon. With the convention season winding down, we will have to keep our eyes on social media accounts for updates. I certainly hope that this line finds its way into collectors’ hands sooner, rather than later.
