Valaverse has pulled back the curtain on the final stages of their production pipeline. It gives us a direct look at the quality control that goes into the Action Force line. The subject of this exclusive behind-the-scenes peek is Lt. Hyun from the upcoming Series 6, illustrating how a figure’s paint application is constantly refined before final production.
This Valaverse Lt. Hyun Production update reinforces Valaverse’s commitment to delivering figures that meet their high visual standards, even if it means adjusting paint schemes late in the process.
The Evolution of Lt. Hyun’s Uniform
The primary focus of the recent update was the pants color for the Lt. Hyun figure. Valaverse explained that action figures are always “evolving and improving through the production process,” a philosophy perfectly demonstrated by this specific change.
The team reviewed the Paint Master sample, the initial, hand-painted reference copy, and decided the original color choice for the pants was unsatisfactory. They subsequently changed the color to the hue seen on the Engineering Pilot (EP) Sample. (See the Instagram post at the bottom of this article.)
However, the team still felt the figure needed more depth. The final touch came with the Final Engineering Pilot (FEP) Sample, where Valaverse added a custom paint wash. This crucial step adds shadowing and definition, ensuring the figure’s uniform looks weathered and realistic.
For fans, these distinctions (Paint Master, EP Sample, FEP) offer a rare glimpse into the meticulous, step-by-step process required to bring a collector-grade figure from 3D model to final product on the shelves.
Price Point Confirmed
In addition to the production update, Valaverse confirmed the adjusted price point for the next waves. Lt. Hyun, along with other figures from Series 6, will now be priced at $27.99. This slight adjustment reflects the effort to reduce collectors’ cost, but maintain a dedication to high quality, heavily accessorized, and highly articulated figures.
Collectors can expect Lt. Hyun and the rest of Series 6 to be available soon, showcasing the finished product of this detailed Valaverse Lt. Hyun Production journey.
