Cryptoids Toys has officially launched the first character reveals for its ambitious new line, CRYPTOIDS: The War For The Green Planet. The Cryptoids Toys Wave 1 line, set to hit Kickstarter in Spring 2026, aims to build a comprehensive universe where legendary creatures clash with an unseen enemy.
Inspired by global conspiracies, cryptids, and the paranormal, the three initial figures, the Yeti, Mothman, and Shadow Mothman, promise a blend of familiar folklore and fresh, groundbreaking action figure design.
The Core Concept: The War For The Green Planet
Cryptoids Toys, born from the creative minds behind the @yhspodcast, is dedicated to exploring the rich world of cryptids and building a narrative around their existence. The core conflict, “The War For The Green Planet,” pits these legendary creatures against the “evil Reptoid uprising” in high-stakes adventures.
The team behind the initial designs includes Jacob Walsh (Character Design), Tristan Miller (Sculpt), and Abigail Gardner (Story Concepts).
Unveiling the Cryptoids Toys Wave 1 Lineup
The initial wave of reveals focuses on some of the world’s most iconic cryptids. Each given a heroic origin within the “Green Planet” lore:
1. The Yeti: The Himalayan Protector
The first reveal is the mighty YETI. Described as a beast of “stature, girth, weight, force, and fur.” The Yeti stands as a massive force multiplier for the cryptids’ cause.
His lore reframes the traditional “Abominable Snowman” title, emphasizing his heroic nature: “He stands tall and proud, with bones guarding a beating heart that is far from abominable but rather copacetic with the negative temperature.” The Yeti is clearly positioned as a powerful, close-quarters combatant, capable of taking on multiple foes simultaneously.
2. Mothman: The Iridescent Prophet
The second character unveiled is the standard version of MOTHMAN, the prophet of the Cryptoid cause. The description highlights his ethereal and guiding role: “Through the trees the iridescent glow of Mothman, emanates. He is our prophet.”
With “eyes that glow red in the night, feet curling like a peregrine’s talon, and wings that stretch like time,” Mothman is the figure the other creatures look to for guidance in the impending war. This figure is expected to feature high detail and a glowing stomach piece.
3. Shadow Mothman: The Launch Exclusive
Confirming a major fan request, Cryptoids Toys also revealed that the SHADOW MOTHMAN variant will be available at launch. This figure is a darker version of the character. Think of it as a stealth-themed, monochromatic look.
Cryptoids Toys will launch all three figures, the Yeti, Mothman, and Shadow Mothman, on Kickstarter in Spring 2026. So, collectors interested in supporting this unique take on cryptid mythology should follow the official Cryptoids Toys accounts for the latest news, updates, and reveals leading up to the campaign.
