Creative Beast Studio, the powerhouse behind the acclaimed Beasts of the Mesozoic and Cyberzoic lines, has released a comprehensive production update via Kickstarter. While fans eager for the high-tech dinosaur armors and riders will have to wait a bit longer, founder David Silva provided transparent insights into the manufacturing hurdles and the exciting progress on upcoming waves.

The Challenge of Complexity: Cyberzoic Wave B2 Status

The primary focus of the update is Cyberzoic Wave B2, which includes the highly anticipated dinosaur armors and riders. Silva revealed that working with a new factory for this segment has introduced a learning curve due to the complexity of the engineering.

A significant “hiccup” occurred recently when a revised production invoice showed a 35% increase in labor costs for the armors. After pausing to seek competitive quotes, Silva decided to remain with the current factory, citing their receptiveness and the time required to acclimate a different team to such intricate designs.

New Timeline for Wave B2:

  • Production Completion: Late March 2025
  • Main Fulfillment: Early May 2025

“We both agreed that we can’t rush them and the result would be better if they had time after the break [Chinese New Year] to finish,” Silva stated, prioritizing quality over speed.

First Look: Painted Samples and Packaging

Despite the delay, production is moving forward. Creative Beast Studio shared “behind-the-scenes” looks at factory progress and, for the first time, painted in-package samples. Fans can now see the final shelf-ready look of the riders and armors, though Silva noted minor color adjustments are still pending for the Badlands Sentry and Knight Pilot backgrounds.

Looking Ahead: Wave C1 and Wave C2

The production shift for B2 has naturally impacted the subsequent waves:

  1. Wave C1 (Beasts): These are expected to ship from the factory in mid-April, with fulfillment landing in late May or early June. Test shots are currently being refined for better articulation and gap reduction.
  2. Wave C2 (Armors/Riders): These are in the “fine cut” stage. While a firm date isn’t set, May or June 2025 is the current internal goal.

Support for Collectors: Dragonslayer Replacement Parts

In a move praised by the community, Silva announced that free replacement parts for the Dragonslayer armor unit will be available for those with defective helmet pegs or vehicle mode brackets. These sets are expected to arrive in late February. Collectors are encouraged to contact support@creative-beast.com with order details and photos to join the waiting list.

Expanding the Lore: Cyberzoic Comic #1 Now Live

It’s not all logistics and manufacturing; the Cyberzoic world is expanding narratively. The first issue of the Cyberzoic comic is now available to read on the official Creative Beast Studio website. An animated teaser trailer has also been released to hype the series, with Issue #2 already well into production.

Meet the Team at Toylanta 2025

Fans in the Southeast U.S. can see these prototypes in person. Creative Beast Studio will be attending Toylanta in Duluth, GA, from March 27th–29th. David Silva, along with team members Ross and Chris, will be on hand with products for sale. Expect a look at upcoming prototypes on display as well.
